Kick off your Independence Day weekend celebrations early on Thursday, July 2, in Centennial Park. Fanfare & Flight is an free evening of live music from the Iowa Brass band, followed by a 15-minute aerial light show from 150 choreographed drones.
The evening is free, thanks to North Liberty’s City Slate partners. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy this family-friendly program under the stars.

Coralville’s annual 4th of July celebration, 4thFest, is a community tradition that attracts thousands of visitors and residents. The multi-day, outdoor festival includes a 5K run / walk on June 27, a free concert featuring country music duo Big & Rich on July 3 and the area’s largest Independence Day parade and firework show on July 4. There will be free family-friendly activities in the park, including a petting zoo and kids’ tractor pull.

With its fast-paced rules and emphasis on continuous play, Banana Ball strips away the often criticized lulls and lengthy pauses typical of traditional baseball, delivering a high-octane and entertainment-packed game that keeps both players and fans on their toes. Banana Ball has 11 unique rules. The most notorious rule is that if a fan catches a foul ball, it counts as an out.

Join researchers in collecting, observing, and recording biodiversity at the Ashton Prairie Living Laboratory in our 6th Annual BioBlitz. Your findings will inform a major research project and will contribute to the fifth data point in a multi-year documentation of how diversity changes at this site over time. Collections will be housed with the UI Museum of Natural History, accessible for comparative data analysis for generations to come.

DockDogs® is heading back to Coralville for another splashing time at the Scheels Hunting Expo!
We are always welcoming new teams to the dock and you don’t need any experience to join in on the fun! Dogs must be at least 6 months old and humans must be at least 7 years old, and all are welcome to participate!
Spectators are always welcome too! Come and go as you please and feel free to get a little wet in the splash zone.
