At this one-day event at the Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center, you live, eat and breathe our beloved Hawkeyes. With activities ranging from the ‘World’s Largest Hawkeye Tradeshow’ to our signature Hawkeye Pep Rally…there is no shortage of activities to experience in Coralville’s Iowa River Landing.
FRYfest was created in 2009 as a collaborative effort between the Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, City of Coralville, and University of Iowa Athletics to kick-off the Hawkeye football season. The event is named after one of the greatest Hawkeyes of all time and the man who is responsible for bringing the Tigerhawk to the University of Iowa: Hayden Fry.
The event also serves as a fundraiser for the City of Coralville with proceeds of the concert and beverage garden funding Coralville’s Fourth of July Celebrations.

Originally created to honor Coach Hayden Fry in 2009, FRYfest has grown into a beloved tradition — one that captures the passion, pride, and pageantry of Hawkeye fandom. From Guinness World Records (hello, Hokey Pokey!) to celebrating Iowa icons like Herky and ANF, every year brings something special.
What to Expect
FRYfest brings the fanfare with a jam-packed lineup of Hawkeye hype. Shop the World’s Largest Hawkeye Tradeshow and dive into friendly competition with FRYfest Games — bags and pickleball included. Add in autograph sessions with Iowa greats, a spirited pep rally, live music, and a family-friendly block party, and you’ve got a daylong celebration that’s as bold and black-and-gold as it gets.
