The University of Iowa is the center of spectator sports in the Iowa City area, and is home of 7 men’s and 13 women’s athletic teams in the Big Ten Conference. Our community embodies a visible love and loyalty for the Hawkeyes. Thousands of fans fill Kinnick Stadium, Carver Hawkeye Arena, and other university athletic facilities to their capacity to cheer them on. Be on the look out for the mascot Herky the Hawk. Locals know all of the football weekend and tailgating tips so come experience it for yourself.
