The Iowa City Public Library was established in 1896 and has always served the community from a downtown location. Collections are the core of the Library’s mission. The library strives to provide materials to satisfy all ages and interests: books, videos, eCollections, art prints, compact discs and interactive media. The Iowa City Public Library has one large, two medium, and two small meeting rooms. When not in use for Library activities, they are available for use by eligible groups. Thirty-eight public computers provide Internet access and wireless access is available throughout the entire building. The Library also has laptops and mobile hotspots available for checkout, as well as a Digital Media Lab, an open, flexible workspace with technology for creating digital media projects. ICPL serves the public’s information needs through well-trained staff at the Information, Help and Children’s Desks, and with Bookmobile services throughout Iowa City. Visit the Library’s website for more information or icpl.org/bookmobile.
