In 1900, Jacob Greenberg opened the first Greenberg’s store in Sioux City, Iowa. Jacob’s mission for Greenberg’s was to provide the best diamonds, the best service, and the best value. Today, Greenberg’s still maintains Jacob’s mission.
Greenberg’s is a three-generation family-owned business. In 1942, Ray Greenberg, Jacob’s son, took over the business and was later joined by his wife, Ann, in 1953.
In 1985, Ray and Ann’s daughters, Elise Greenberg and Amy Greenberg, joined the business along with Amy's husband, Scott Sachnoff. During the 1980s and 1990s, Greenberg’s made the decision to expand. Today, Greenberg’s operates its seven stores in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
