Walked in around 10:30 am in a typical Wednesday morning and were politely asked to wait a moment while they cleaned a table for our family. They promptly cleaned a booth and we were seated immediately. They gave us a menu and crayons with an adorable bluebird picture and fact sheet for our daughter to color. The restaurant was bustling and you could tell they had been slammed earlier in the morning. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly. Our meals did not take long to arrive, just long enough for us all to receive one refill on our drinks. My daughter and I had pancakes. Oddly enough Our daughter preferred my gluten-free ones. Well I didn’t try hers, they sure did look good, mine were perfect combination of being fluffy yet not airy. My husband had chicken fried steak and eggs which he said were delicious. I had commented that my ice tea was very good and I liked that I had a different flavor the waitress offered to give me a glass to go which I thought was going over and above on customer service. Waitress also took the time to thank us for being so kind today and it really took me back, because I didn’t think that we were being extra kind. It really made me think of how awful so many people must treat waitresses on a daily basis. Be kind to the staff.

If you are in Iowa City and want a good lunch or dinner, or an absolutely excellent breakfast, you need to stop here. The staff is very helpful and their food is simply the best. They have so many unique dishes and flavors. The breakfast food is our favorite and there are options that include meat and vegetarian options. Chorizo and many other options for breakfast food. They even have some adult drink options as well. I would highly recommend this place as one of the top breakfast or lunch/dinner options in the area.

Did some research before stopping for the night in Iowa City. When I looked up the best breakfast this was the highest rated suggestion. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The cinnamon roll french toast was HUGE to say the least. The only thing I would add is the toppings offered for the pancakes and french toast. Cute little place, friendly staff, cute artsy neighborhood. I will probably never visit Iowa's again, but this place was worth the stop.

Always a go to stop for food when people come from out of town, the food is always delicious and the atmosphere is what you would think of what you would think of when you try to imagine a stereotypical college town diner, and that's what makes it what it is. The BLT is probably one of our go to meals or the corned beef and hash (like actual hash) made up fresh and always grilled perfectly. The Eggs Benedict is also one of the most expertly prepared dishes on the menu

Generous portions, friendly service all priced reasonably. Demand is robust, so be aware you may have a modest wait. Service is prompt, though. It's worth the trip.
