Since 1999, a local run evolved into the Run for the Schools, with all proceeds benefiting students in the Iowa City Community School District and Regina Catholic Education Center. This legendary event, held in the streets of downtown Iowa City includes 1/2 mile and 1 mile fun runs and 5K/10K timed runs. A party in the adjoining Chauncey Swan Park immediately follows.
