Juneteenth commemorates the day enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Together, we honor our history, celebrate our culture, and strengthen our community.
Bring your lawn chairs, your family, your community spirit as we gather for a day of remembrance, unity, education, and celebration.
FREE and open to the public!
Special thanks to the City of Iowa City for supporting this community celebration
