The Pentacrest Museums host visiting artist Kari Greer for a special event to discuss themes of her exhibition Facing the Inferno: The Wildfire Photography of Kari Greer, now on display at the Old Capitol Museum. Greer will discuss her art, her career, firsthand knowledge of fire from the 1990s to today, and how photographic documentation impacts our collective understanding. Following her keynote, Greer will be joined by UI faculty from Carver College of Medicine and the colleges of Engineering, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Public Health working on Living With Smoke, which examines the impacts of smoke on respiratory infections in the Western and Midwestern United States for a panel discussion and subsequent Q&A.
Old Capitol Museum galleries will open at 5:30 p.m. (come see the exhibit first)
Keynote and panel begin at 6 p.m.
