Bike-In Beats is a free outdoor concert at the Bike Library, sponsored by Bike Iowa City, Big Grove for Good and Hills Bank. This year, James Tutson will headline with opening acts from the Solon High School Mariachi Band, Revolucion Musical, and PHDJ.
Bike-In Beats demonstrates the potential of our vision—to empower our community to make cycling a primary mode of transportation. Concert-goers are encouraged to bike to the event, highlighting the accessibility and ease of cycling for trips less than 3 miles. Gilbert Ct. is shut down for commuters’ bike parking. Hundreds of bikes—foldable bicycles, cargo e-bikes, recumbents, trail-a-bikes—are on display in a space that would typically accommodate six cars. The wide array demonstrates the achievability of bike commuting for many different lifestyles!
