African Drumming Workshop with Fonziba Koster
Saturday, Sept.6, 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Join Fonziba for an exhilarating afternoon playing W. African poly-rhythms on authentic Djembe hand drums. She will playfully guide you into the heart or essence of African drumming which has one fundamental purpose – to create energy and joy.
Open to All Levels, Beginners to Advanced

After this workshop there will be an opportunity to join a 6 week class at Full Moon Studio, Wednesday nights 7-8:30pm, (Sept 10, 17, 24 & Oct. 1, 8, 15)
Fonziba Koster has a B.A. in music education. For the last 27 years has presented her African Drumming & Culture programs to thousands in schools, libraries, museums, churches and retirement communities throughout the Midwest. Fonziba has studied & performed with master drummers from Mali, Guinea, Senegal & the Ivory Coast. She also lived & performed with a traditional family of drummers in the Ivory Coast.
