Jason Isbell and his stellar band sold out in a blink ahead of their 2023 Hancher performance. It is no wonder, because this is a storyteller at the peak of his craft, observing his fellow wanderers, looking inside and trying to understand, and then miraculously reducing a universe to four minutes of deeply resonant music.

NCAA Women’s Wrestling

Inaugural NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championships

March 6-7

Xtream Arena

Coralville

History will be made March 6-7, 2026 at Xtream Arena as the inaugural National Collegiate Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships will be held in Coralville.

180 athletes will compete across 10 weight classes in freestyle wrestling, the style that matches Olympic wrestling and will include teams from Division I, Division II and Division III.

Hosted by the Iowa City Area Sports Commission.

Iowa has won the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships (NCWWC) for the last two seasons, led by returning individual champions and senior world team members Kennedy Blades (160) and Kylie Welker (180).

The annual championship will feature all 11 MVC women’s basketball programs competing for The Valley’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The 2026 tournament marks the 40th MVC Women’s Basketball Tournament and the first time it will be hosted in Coralville.

The iconic 70s rock opera by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jesus Christ Superstar is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.

The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire during the last days of Jesus Christ’s life.

Bob Dylan’s career has lasted the better part of sixty years now. He has never gotten by on sentimentality or nostalgia. He has never repeated his successes. Dylan has always pushed his work ahead. He has collected 12 Grammys, an Oscar, a Pulitzer Prize, the Nobel Prize for Literature, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Even more notably, his songs have changed American music–and the ways we think about American change and possibility.

The Social aims to encourage conversation and create a gathering space for members of the disability community. This event takes place before the first film of the Iowa Disability Film Festival hosted by FilmScene. Thank you to local advocate, Talya Miller, for co-organizing this event. This event is free and open to the public.

You can expect: light beverages and pastries for attendees, crafts and affirmation cards, and an intimate DJ set donated by Blind Soul Productions.

Event will be held in the cafe area of the second floor of the Chauncey Building from 4pm to 6pm. Parking is available in the Chauncey Swan Ramp. The third level leads directly to the second floor cafe area. There are elevators accessible on each floor.

Powwow Preview

Powwow Preview: Little Steps in the Circle, Dance & Crafts Day

March 29, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Iowa Children’s Museum

Coralville

Join us for a joyful, family-friendly event celebrating Indigenous culture through Youth Powwow dance performances and hands-on craft activities for children.

This interactive preview event invites families to learn about Powwow traditions in a welcoming, playful environment while helping spread the word about the University of Iowa’s 29th Annual Powwow, hosted by the Native American Student Association (NASA) this April.

There will be two thirty-minute performances, taking place at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Children will have the opportunity to engage with culture through movement, creativity, and community in a space designed for young learners and families. All performances and activities are included with museum admission.
