You-Pick Strawberry Season at Wilson’s

You-Pick Strawberry Season at Wilson’s

June 3-24

Wilson’s Orchard & Farm

Iowa City

Strawberries are heading into their sixth season in Iowa City, and they’re absolutely worth the wait.

These aren’t your typical grocery store berries. Store-bought fruit is often picked early to survive cross-country shipping. When you pick your berries straight from the patch at Wilson’s, you’re getting them at peak ripeness with almost no time between the field and your first bite. That means more sweetness, deeper color, and berries at their highest concentration of vitamins and antioxidants.

Downtown

Iowa City

Details

Iowa City’s biggest event of the year returns this summer! The 9th Annual Downtown Block Party will take place on Saturday, June 27 from 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., spanning 14 blocks in the heart of Downtown Iowa City.

Designed for all ages, the event captures the feel of a classic community blcok party. Rather than traditional ticketing, the event instead sells Block Party cups, which allows those 21 and older to enjoy beverages purchased from local establishments throughout the event footprint. All programming, activities, and entertainment are free and open to the public.

Pre-sale cups are available online for a reduced price of $10. Tickets will buy you the official event cup and wristband, allowing you to walk through the event with beer or wine in hand. Cups are only required for those planning to consume alcohol. Day-of cups will also be available at designated cup stations for an increased price of $15.

This year’s event features a wide variety of activities, including tarot card readings, nostalgic ’90s games, origami stations, Pop-a-Shot, roller skating, live music, and more. Fan-favorite experiences will also return, including Dueling Pianos, Silent Disco, Dueling Pianos, and SCW Pro Wrestling.

See you on the street on June 27!
