The trails are easy and scenic, but as Joshua mentioned they can be hard to distinguish from the rest of the forest.

The Muddy Creek Preserve is a hidden treasure on the edge of Coralville. Right at the end of Muddy Creek Lane you'll find a sign and a gate and not much else to indicate you're in the right spot. There is some on the street parking available, but no parking lot. Through the gate you'll find a beautiful, wooded preserve with fairly steep hills and giant trees. The paths are rustic, the wildlife is plentiful, and it feels like you're far away from town even though there is a subdivision just outside the fence. The boundaries are not well marked in some places, but the preserve is a great experience otherwise.
