The South District Diversity Market is a consistent opportunity to shop and support local entrepreneurs in the Iowa City and Johnson County area.  This outdoor market is in its second season of elevating underestimated populations of small business owners that include, but are not limited to: women, BIPOC, immigrant, refugee, returning citizens, LGBTQ+ and youth.  Come have fun shopping with over 50 Vendors registered to sell: art, specialty foods, jewelry, clothes, crafts, gifts, massage, metaphysical experiences and more.

This family-friendly market is near the 4,400sq foot “Our Children Spoke” mural, down the street from a splash-pad, disc golf course, basketball courts, and family-area at Wetherby Park.  Plus, there will be free face painting for youth during set times at the market (be sure to check our Facebook page for more details).  There will also be a collection of local nonprofit resources set up to increase awareness of their services too.  Some of those nonprofits include Antelope Lending Library Bookmobile, UI Mobile Clinic, CommUnity Crisis Services & Food Bank, League of Women Voters (come register to vote), Iowa Children’s Museum, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The James Gang, Johnson County Public Health, South District Neighborhood Association  and more!

The market season is May 28 – July 30–a total of 10 Saturdays (weather pending)
