Joan Osborne performs in Iowa City on October 13th at Englert Theatre (ticket info).
She is on tour in support of her latest album, Nobody Owns You (Womanly Hips Records). You can listen Nobody Owns You HERE. Joan was recently featured in Relix, Vintage Guitar, American Songwriter, and others.
Osborne’s last album, Trouble and Strife, took a blunt and honest outlook on the U.S. political Climate, while her new album, Nobody Owns You, has a more personal and introspective point of view. She reflects on life’s hardest questions, reminiscing on her past and her future. Produced by Ben Rice (Valerie June, Norah Jones), this reflective record emulates that rich Americana sound, providing a sense of comfort and peace to the listener.
Joining Joan on the album is Ben Rice (banjo guitar), along with Cindy Cashdollar (lap steel), Dave Sherman (piano), and Jack Petruzelli (baritone guitar). Backing vocalists Rachel Yamagata and Catherine Russell add tone and texture as they contribute harmonies throughout much of the album. Nobody Owns You is Osborne’s 11th studio album.
