“The mission of the Iowa City Madrigal is to create inclusive, vibrant community events that celebrate the richness of renaissance music and the joy of collaboration. We aim to bring together diverse audiences and participants through engaging performances and interactive experiences, fostering a love for the arts and encouraging connection among individuals of all ages and backgrounds. By hosting events that are accessible, we seek to inspire creativity, build community bonds, and create lasting memories through a shared joy of music.”

The Iowa City Madrigal features the Iowa City Madrigal Singers, who sing music from the 16th century, the Prairie Piffari, an ensemble that plays renaissance pieces on period instruments, Fox Rose on the harp, the Lena Choir, Iowa City’s newest and youngest choir, and a smattering of other talented musicians.  Enjoy a four-course meal with vegan options, wassail, and free mead tastings from award-winning Emery Meadery!  Proceeds benefit United Action for Youth.
