Feel the beat of live music with local artists at the 2022 Friday Night Concert Series and Northside Concert Series. Enjoy 19 live concerts featuring many of your favorite bands and some new bands that will quickly become your favorites!  Thank you to Toyota of Iowa City for being the presenting sponsor for both concert series.

The Friday Night Concert Series will kick off with the Iowa Steel Band in a special performance on May 13 from 6:30 – 8PM. The following week we are back to our usual 6:30-9:30 PM performances when we welcome all three area public high schools to have their jazz ensembles perform on May 20. This year, the series features several favorite bands, such as The Recliners on May 27, Kevin Burt & Big Medicine on June 10, and Brad & the Big Wave on August 5. We are excited to host performance veterans like the surf rock band Surf Zombies on June 17 and funk and RnB group Funktastic Five on August 19. Performing alongside Surf Zombies, we are thrilled to bring back Plastic Relations, an Iowa City based pop, rock, and blues cover band, on June 17. On July 15th we have a very special reunion night as area high schools celebrate their 35th class reunion. Local group City Park will open and then there will be a special reunion performance by Farichildren – a group made up of graduates from several area high schools. The series represents a wide variety of genres, so there is something for everyone to enjoy!
