Join us at Downtown Iowa City’s community happy hour! April’s First Round will be on Wednesday, April 20th from 5:00 – 6:30pm at Goosetown (203 N Linn St). Get the opportunity to meet new people, socialize, and see what’s new in the arts, business, and culture areas of our community. The event will begin at 5:00pm and our host will begin interviewing our guest speakers around 5:30pm.
April’s First Round will include guest speakers Jennifer Black Reinhardt & Jan Weissmiller. Jennifer is a local author and illustrator of several children’s books including Always by My Side, one of the featured books for the April StoryWalk hosted by the Iowa City Downtown District. Her artwork is included in best-selling calendars, humor books, needlepoint kits, collector plates, and a Louie Award winning line of greeting cards.
Always by my Side was selected for the StoryWalk by our local bookstore Prairie Lights, which is owned by our other guest speaker, Jan Weissmiller. Jan has been living in Iowa City since she was an undergraduate and attended the Writer’s Workshop for Poetry. In 2008, she became the owner of Prairie Lights Bookstore which is an internationally recognized landmark of Downtown Iowa City. She has helped make Prairie Lights a gathering place and safe haven for all readers and writers.
Recommended parking will be along the street or the city parking lot next to Bluebird Diner.
Don’t forget, your #firstround for April is free thanks to Bradley and Riley PC. Cheers and see you there!
