When four young lovers flee the city to follow their hearts\, they wander into a place where anything can happen\, and usually does. A mischievous fairy named Puck\, armed with a magic flower\, sends the lovers chasing each other in all the wrong directions\, and the queen of the fairies falls head over heels for a buffoonish “ass.” When dawn breaks\, love wins\, and all that’s left to do is celebrate with three weddings and a play-within-a-play so charmingly terrible it just might steal the show.

From everyday objects and local stories to hopes\, predictions\, and cultural pieces that define this moment in time\, the capsule will preserve a snapshot of eastern Iowa today and what we imagine the future might hold. Examples of acceptable items are outlined here. \nNorth Liberty’s City Slate\nThis event is part of North Liberty’s City Slate\, a yearlong schedule of events is made possible by Collins Community Credit Union\, Corda Credit Union\, Hills Bank\, McGrath Toyota of Iowa City\, Pizza Ranch\, The Eastern Iowa Airport – CID\, South Slope Cooperative Communications\, University of Iowa Health Care and Urban Acres Real Estate.

SUMMARY:Big & Rich perform at Coralville 4thFest
DESCRIPTION:Free Concert in S.T. Morrison Park\nJuly 3\, 2026\n6:30 pm: KC Bruner\n8:00 pm: Big & Rich\nWhere: S.T. Morrison Park\, Coralville  |  Get directions\nCost:  Free\nAbout: Bring blankets\, lawn chairs\, and prepare for a great performance at the annual 4thFest concert! The show is open to all ages.\nWeather: The concert is scheduled to be held rain or shine. \nAll events subject to change.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Artists\nBig & Rich\nBig & Rich are America’s Technicolor Cowboys\, brothers-in-arms in service to the creed that great music has no boundaries. Individually\, Big Kenny and John Rich are first-rate musicians\, songwriters\, producers\, and entertainers. Together\, they are one of the most truly original musical forces ever unleashed.\nBig & Rich have made a career of being relatable and musically relevant since exploding into the public consciousness in 2003. With 2004’s triple-platinum “Horse of a Different Color\,” they were able to tap into the best strands of a wide spectrum of popular music\, filter them through their pens and voices\, and produce a sound that is instantly recognizable. “Horse of a Different Color” produced four straight Top 40 country hits\, including the number 11 “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).” Big & Rich have recorded six studio albums and charted nineteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. \nBefore Big & Rich\, William Kenneth Alphin\, who is best known by his stage name Big Kenny\, recorded a solo album\, “Live a Little\,” for Hollywood Records in 1999 (released in 2005) and fronted a band called luvjOi. He has also written or co-written several of Big & Rich’s songs with Rich\, as well as singles for Gretchen Wilson\, Jason Aldean\, McBride & the Ride\, and Tim McGraw. His first solo single\, “Long After I’m Gone\,” was released to country radio on August 3\, 2009\, from the album\, “The Quiet Times of a Rock and Roll Farm Boy.” \nFrom 1992 to 1998\, John Rich was a member of the country music band Lonestar\, in which he played bass guitar and alternated with Richie McDonald as lead vocalist. After departing from the band in 1998\, he embarked on a solo career on BNA Records in the late 1990s\, releasing two singles for the label and recording “Underneath the Same Moon\,” which was not released until 2006. \nBig & Rich website \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBig & Rich • 8:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKC Bruner\nKC Bruner grew up in Swisher\, Iowa\, surrounded by a large family of eight siblings and step-siblings\, and the spirit of country music.\n“I grew up in a bar\,” she says\, as her dad was a local celebrity\, spending evenings singing at gigs around Iowa. KC made her initial debuts at his side\, learning to sing at his shows and in his garage\, where the family would hold parties\, singing and playing music for each other. \nWhen she wasn’t singing in garages and bars\, KC was spending her childhood at salons and barbershops—where multiple generations of her family worked. KC followed in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother\, moving to Nashville and going to beauty school before working full-time as a hairstylist\, but her heart called her to the stage. \nKC picked up her guitar and posted songs she had written on TikTok. Soon her unique voice and storytelling led to a record deal and the release of her first songs. After her first few releases\, KC is gearing up to hone her true artist sound and identify with her next single\, “Girls Are Going Out.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKC Bruner • 6:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrevious Concerts\n\n\n\n\n\nChapel Hart (2025)\nYacht Rock Revue (2024)\nVoices of Classic Rock (2023)\nNight Ranger (2022)\nJosh Turner (2021)\nJourney former lead vocalist Steve Augeri (2019)\nRick Springfield (2018)\nTommy James and the Shondells (2017)\nThe Oak Ridge Boys (2016)\n\n\n\n\nLoverboy (2015)\nJefferson Starship (2014)\n38 Special (2013)\nLonestar (2012)\nHerman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone (2011)\nNitty Gritty Dirt Band (2010)\nDennis DeYoung: The Music of STYX (2009)\nThe Guess Who (2008)\nGrand Funk Railroad (2007)\n\n\n\n\nThe Charlie Daniels Band (2006)\nLittle River Band (2005)\nKansas (2004)\nBlood\, Sweat\, and Tears (2003)\nAmerica (2002)\nThree Dog Night (2001)\nThe Platters\, The Drifters\, and The Marvelettes (2000)\nChubby Checker (1999)\nThe Mamas & the Papas (1998)

SUMMARY:Ped Mall Rooftop: TOOTSIE
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by MidWestOne\nDoors open for seating and pre-show 30 minutes before the posted start time. Screening at dusk.\n“Has what the best screwball comedies had: a Can-you-top-this? quality.”—Pauline Kael\, The New Yorker\nNew York actor Michael Dorsey (Dustin Hoffman) is a talented perfectionist who is so hard on himself and others that his agent (Sydney Pollack) can no longer find work for him. After a soap opera audition goes poorly\, Michael reinvents himself as actress Dorothy Michaels and wins the part. What was supposed to be a short-lived role turns into a long-term contract\, but when Michael falls for his castmate Julie (Jessica Lange)\, complications develop that could wreck everything.\nIn the case of inclement weather\, the screening will occur indoors.
