The first\, a group of predominantly Black middle school students from Chicago: and the second\, a group of older Americans who lived through the 1960s Civil Rights era. Drawing on conversations with those who knew Dr. King well\, the film reveals stirring new perspectives on Dr. King’s character\, his radical doctrine of nonviolence and his internal philosophical struggles prior to his assassination. The Perseverance Rover is exploring Mars and gathering samples. This workshop will explore space crafts and what they do and perform some space exploration training. Included in the collection is Broersma’s “Uncanny Forest” series of curious tree folk in mixed media as well as miniature scratchboards from her “Monster Buddy Project”.
