The event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. in ICPL Meeting Room A. The screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion lead by Dr. Negus Sankofa Imhotep. \nThe Road to Justice \nThe Road to Justice follows two groups on a civil rights tour through the American South as they reckon with our painful legacy of racial injustice. The first\, a group of predominantly Black middle school students from Chicago: and the second\, a group of older Americans who lived through the 1960s Civil Rights era. Drawing on conversations with those who knew Dr. King well\, the film reveals stirring new perspectives on Dr. King’s character\, his radical doctrine of nonviolence and his internal philosophical struggles prior to his assassination. From the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965 to his assassination in 1968\, Dr. King remained unshakably committed to nonviolence in the face of an increasingly unstable country.\n\nThis screening is free and open to all.
