DESCRIPTION:The Iowa City Farmers Market is managed by the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department. It is an open-air market held in the Chauncey Swan parking ramp\, Chauncey Swan Park\, and on E. Washington St. in downtown Iowa City. The market runs from May through October. We strive to serve all populations by providing access to fresh\, locally produced products. \n\n\n\nWhat to Know before You Visit\nPets – Animals are NOT allowed inside the first level of the parking ramp during the market. But feel free to bring your furry friends to the market to enjoy the park and Washington Street! \nPayment – A variety of payment options are available including cash\, credit/debit cards\, EBT/SNAP (Electronic Benefit Transfer/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) cards\, and DUFB (Double Up Food Bucks.) Tokens are available for purchase at the Information Table located at the north entrance of the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp during the market\, see staff for more details. \nParking – During the Farmers Market hours (7:30 a.m. to noon)\, free parking is available in the upper levels of the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp\, as well as the lot behind the Robert A. DESCRIPTION:Iowa City’s biggest event of the year returns this summer! The 8th Annual Downtown Block Party is set for Saturday\, June 28th from 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and will take over 14 blocks in the heart of Downtown Iowa City. The event is for all ages and specifically targets the feel of a community block party. Rather than selling tickets\, the event instead sells Block Party cups that allow attendees 21 and older to purchase their drink from local establishments to take into the street to enjoy. All of the programming activities and entertainment are completely free to the public.\nPre-sale cups can be purchased online for a reduced price of $10. Tickets will buy you the official event cup and wristband that will allow you to walk around the event with wine and beer in-hand. Cups only need to be purchased if you plan on consuming alcohol. Day-of cups can also be purchased during the event at cup stations for an increased price of $15.\nThis year you’ll be welcomed with a wide variety of activities such as adult tricycle races\, crossnet volleyball\, kid’s street hockey\, hula hoop stations\, rollerskating\, live music\, and so much more. DESCRIPTION:“What is the cost to mend a broken heart?”\nJoin us for a live performance of “Heart Balm\,” by playwright Janet Schlapkohl at the historic Homestead Village Church Museum. “Heart Balm\,” is the story of a young German immigrant who discovers love\, a new occupation\, the Iowa court system\, and herself. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at amanaheritage.org or at the door starting at 6:30 p.m. on June 28th.\nThe Homestead Village Church Museum will play host to this performance as an introduction to the future of the museum. The Church Museum will remain an integral part of the Amana Heritage Society’s interpretation of the cultural heritage of the Amana Colonies\, telling the story of the Inspirationists. As we work to further develop the site\, the Church Museum will also become a venue for educational and entertaining musical and theatrical performances\, focusing on the history and heritage of the state of Iowa as a whole. In order to rejuvenate the Homestead Church building\, we need the support and participation of our community and visitors. The Amana Heritage Society is excited to host this event to initiate this rejuvenation.

DESCRIPTION:This monthly event is a seasonal multicourse dinner series featuring products that are available in the moment. Many of these items are specific projects of the farm and kitchen\, so the flavors and experience are unique to each dinner. Seating is limited. One welcome beverage is included with the price of the dinner. Wine by the bottle and glass\, craft beer\, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase during the dinner. $15 corkage fee for beverages brought in. \nVegetarian option available upon request\, please note vegetarian guests upon booking of the reservation. Please let us know of any allergies or dietary restrictions upon reservation as well if there is another party for which you wish to be seated. \nTicket price is $95 plus 22% gratuity for staff.
