DESCRIPTION:Join curator Rich Dana for a special guided tour of the current University of Iowa Libraries Main Library Gallery exhibition\, A Roll of the Dice: Symbolism in the Sackner Archive. All are welcome to attend this free event. \nAbout the exhibit:  \nIn 1897\, French Symbolist poet Stéphane Mallarmé revolutionized the world of graphic design with a single poem that forever changed the way we look at words. His work illustrated how text conveys meaning not only through words\, but also as visual symbols that contain a deeper meaning. For over 125 years\, artists and writers have continued to explore the mystery of Mallarmé’s poem “Un coup de dés jamais n’abolira le hasard” [A throw of the dice will never abolish chance]. This exhibition\, curated by Sackner Archive Project Coordinator Librarian Rich Dana\, features art\, books\, and ephemera from the Ruth and Marvin Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry that explore the immense influence of “Un coup de dés” since its publication. \nIndividuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. DESCRIPTION:This monthly event is a seasonal multicourse dinner series featuring products that are available in the moment. Many of these items are specific projects of the farm and kitchen\, so the flavors and experience are unique to each dinner. Seating is limited. One welcome beverage is included with the price of the dinner. Wine by the bottle and glass\, craft beer\, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase during the dinner. $15 corkage fee for beverages brought in. \nVegetarian option available upon request\, please note vegetarian guests upon booking of the reservation. We strive to serve all populations by providing access to fresh\, locally produced products. \n\n\n\nWhat to Know before You Visit\nPets – Animals are NOT allowed inside the first level of the parking ramp during the market.
