—-Show Description—-
For over 15 years the Beaker Brothers Band has been paying homage to the original Jam Bands of the late 60’s and early 70’s – the Allman Brothers, Clapton, Santana, Little Feat, Rolling Stones, James Gang, the Doors, Steely Dan, Neil Young, CCR, and many more. But the Beaker Brothers Band isn’t a nostalgia act. We’re playing music that has been in our heads and our hearts since we first heard it. This is the music we played in our youth – our roots if you will.
On the heels of last year’s well received Allman Brothers show, this year we’ll pay tribute to another huge influence on each of us – Eric Clapton. Clapton’s library is so vast and his body of work so far reaching, it’s admittedly daunting to condense it into a song list for a single evening. We’ll start with his work with Cream and Blind Faith, explore his varied musical chapters as a solo artist, and include some iconic contributions to the music his many musical friends. We’re trying hard to include your favorites …but it’s a long list, isn’t it? We want to play some classics, some deep cuts – but mostly we want to express the influence this legend has had on us musically.
Last year was a special evening at the Englert, with our fans being the magic ingredient. Let’s do it again!
